Due to OSHA standards, Florida Industrial Training only offers training for company employees at their on-site location.

OSHA’s regulations for Powered Industrial Trucks can be found on their website: 29 CFR 1910.178. Our Classes are OSHA 29 CFR 1910.178 and 29 CFR 1926.602[d] Standard Compliant.

OSHA has no requirement that a forklift operator have a valid driver’s license, however, OSHA does state: “It is a violation of Federal law for anyone UNDER 18 years of age to operate a forklift or for anyone OVER 18 years of age who is not properly trained and certified to do so.”

While having a driver’s license is not a requirement set by OSHA, ensuring the operator is able to safely operate the equipment is essential, and the employer must have a certification record of training for each individual operating their equipment.
